On June 23 2014, the State of California mailed letters to CA PIs asking for input regarding any needed Occupational Analysis 'task skills updating' a new PI becoming licensed now should know.
It will involve some phone interviewing, followed by two 10-person discussion workshops.
This was also done earlier this year for the PPO (guard company) license.
Such new topics are invited every 5 to 7 years, so if you know of a task a new PI should know about now that is different than 5 years ago, contact CA BSIS.

MORE complaints of paying for garbage 'on-line practice tests' supposedly for the California Private Investigator license test!
Yesterday, 2 different persons contacted thePIgroup. From opposite ends of the state, they do not know each other. But they have a sad story in common: 1) they both paid about $100 to review some on-line multiple-choice questions said to help with the CA PI license test; 2) both soon later failed the PI test; 3) both said that no more than 3 questions in this guys 'on-line questions' were on their PI license test that they failed; 4) they both want a refund, and 5) they both next came to thePIgroup for REAL study material that covers all 5 different 150-question tests. The contact information of these two rip-off victims is available if needed by BSIS or other victims. Both are extremely credible professionals.
These were not the first complaints about this guy's 'help'. Its the same guy who WRONGLY has told others that 'You only need to know about 150 questions to be able to pass any of the 5 different PI tests-- the other questions are very similar'.
